Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Utah Warriors re-signed Elijah Hayes for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. He was the 19th selection in the 2020 Major League Rugby Collegiate Draft. The 25-year-old prop is 6’3″ and 265 lbs. Elijah played 31 minutes in one match for the Utah Warriors in 2022. He played during preseason for the Utah Warriors but played with the Warrior Selects during the Fall of 2020 and Spring of 2021. He attended a nine-week USA high-performance camp and played with the USA U23s Academy Team this Fall. That led to his selection for the USA Select XV tour to Uruguay…

The Utah Warriors re-signed Olive Kilifi for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 36-year-old loosehead/tighthead prop is 5’11” and 280 lbs. Oli played 347 minutes in 11 matches, starting 3, and scored one try for the  Utah Warriors in 2022. He also continued in his role as Warriors  Selects Head Coach. He played 558 minutes in 15 matches, starting 5, and scored 3 tries for the Utah Warriors in 2021. He then became the Warriors Selects head Coach this Fall. The Utah Warriors re-signed Eagle prop, Paul Mullen, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old tighthead prop is 6’0″ and 275 lbs. Paul played 748  minutes in 16 matches, starting 10, for the Utah Warriors in 2022. He then played with the USA Falcons in the Toyota Challenge against the Toyota Cheetahs and Pumas before traveling to Dubai to play in the World Rugby 2023 Rugby World Cup Final Qualification tournament against Kenya, Hong Kong, and Portugal. Angus played 552 minutes in 15 matches, starting 5, for the Utah Warriors in 2022. He then played with the USA Falcons in the Toyota Challenge in South Africa against the Toyota Cheetahs and Pumas. Franco played 599 minutes in 11 matches, starting 9, in 2022 for the Utah Warriors. He played 753 minutes in 14 matches, starting 11, and scored one try for the Utah Warriors in 2021. The 24-year-old flanker/No.8 is 6’3″ and 233 lbs. Ronan played 1020 minutes in 15 matches, starting 13, and scored 3 tries for the Arrows in 2022. The Dallas Jackals signed Joaquin Horcada for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old is a loosehead prop is 5’10” and 245 lbs. He previously played hooker. Joaquin is from Rosario, Sante Fe, Argentina. He played rugby for Argentina’s Under-20s and Under-19s in 2017, as well as for Rugby de Gimnasia y Esgrima de Rosario where he last played. Old Glory DC signed Nic Souchon for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old hooker is 5’11” and 220 lbs. Nic grew up in Paeroa, New Zealand. He played youth rugby for Thames Rugby Club and was the team’s captain at the 2010 Roller Mills tournament. From 2011 through 2015 he attended Hamilton Boys High School as a boarding student and played rugby. The Dallas Jackals signed Jerónimo Gómez Vara for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 21-year-old flanker (22 in January) is  6’3″ and 225 lbs. The Argentinian back-row played with Atlético de Rosario and with San Patricio (Corrientes) in URBA.  He represented Argentina at the World Rugby Under-20s Championship and then captained the side last year against South Africa, Georgia, and Uruguay. The Seattle Seawolves signed Mason Pedersen for the 2023 Major League Rugby season after obtaining his signing rights in the 2022 MLR dispersal draft for Austin Gilgronis and LA Giltinis players. The 26-year-old prop is 6’1″ and 260 lbs. Mason played 679 minutes in 13 matches, starting 7, and scored 2 tries for the Austin Giilronis in 2022.
