Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Toronto Arrows host Rugby New York at York Stadium at Noon on May 8. The match will be broadcast on TSN in Canada and internationally on The Rugby Network. Both teams are in a fight for the playoffs with New York entering the match in third place with a 7-4 record and 37 points. Toronto is in fourth place with a 6-5 record and 30 points. The Toronto Arrows added Canadian Development Academy, Pacific Pride scrumhalf Sam Reimer ahead of their match on May 8 against Rugby New York. The 19-year-old halfback is 5’9″ and 185lbs. Sam played for the Rugby Ontario Junior Blues, Nanaimo RFC, Ajax Wanderers, Oshawa Vikings, and for the Crimson Tide against the Seattle Seawolves in 2020.
