Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Houston SaberCats acquired Jerad Line Latu on loan from the American Raptors as injury cover for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old wing/fullback is 5’10” and 230 lbs. The Seattle Seawolves signed Neal Moylett, a 2022 second-round pick in MLR Collegiate Draft, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old No.8 is 6’2″ and 225 lbs. Neal is from Ballina, Ireland, where he began playing rugby when he was four years old for Ballina Rugby Football Club. He played both youth and senior rugby for the club and in the All-Ireland League. The Seattle Seawolves added Seattle Rugby Club’s Adam Page for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The blindside flanker started in the team’s final regular season match against San Diego Legion. Adam attended the University of Colorado Boulder from 2011 through his graduation in 2016 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mathematics and an Economics minor. He also played rugby for the Buffalos. The 25-year-old lock, who is 6’6″ and 275 lbs, was a reserve in the team’s final regular season match against San Diego Legion. Brandon was born in Illi’ili, American Samoa, and moved to Washington six and a half years ago. He attended Tafuna High School, Ascc Community College, and Highline College. Rugby New York gained a bonus point after the team’s fourth try by Ishmail Shabazz and will host Old Glory DC in a playoff eliminator match on Sunday, June 25th at 6 pm at Memorial Field at Mt. NOLA Gold added Rory Edwards for the remainder of the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old scrumhalf is 5’10” and 165 lbs. Rory was born in the United States and moved to Australia at age 12 where he resides in Perth, Western Australia. After graduating high school in 2010, he played over 250  rugby matches for Cottesloe Rugby Football Club, which was part of the Fortescue Premier Grade team that won 3 premierships from 2019 through 2021. In April it was announced that he had signed with the Houston SaberCats where he played 37 minutes in two matches.
