Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Toronto Arrows hosts the Seattle Seawolves on Saturday, April 17 at 10:30 am ET at Lupo Family Field in Marietta, Georgia. Rugby ATL added Wilkus Groenewald for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old tighthead prop is 6’1″ and 245 lbs. Wilkus is from Somerset West, South Africa, and attended Paarl Boys’ High School where he played rugby, as well as track and field, throwing the discus, shot put, and hammer throw. The LA Giltinis signed Ma’ake Muti for the remainder of the 2021 Major League Rugby season, as injuries have mounted for their props. The 23-year-old is 6’1″ and 265 lbs. Ma’ake impressed coaches at a recent try-out and the physical, strong-running forward was added to the roster afterward.  Ma’ake was signed to the Dallas Jackals development side, and then played with the Rugbytown Crossover Academy team, Colorado XO after the Jackals postponed the team’s entry into MLR until 2022. Rugby ATL signed Adriaan Carelse for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old fullback/flyhalf is 5’8″ and 160 lbs. Adriaan is from Somerset West, South Africa. He was the rugby 1st team captain with Hottentots Holland High School and also played youth rugby with Western Province in 2013-2014.
