Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Dallas Jackals signed Cristian Rodriguez for the 2021 season. The 23-year-old scrumhalf, who has played fullback and wing (24 in January) is 5’6″ and 170 lbs. Cristian will play on the Ohio Aviators at the World Tens Series in Bermuda, which is being held October 24-November 7. New England Free Jacks re-signed Poasa Waqanibau through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old wing/center (27 in May) is 6’2″, and 230 lbs. During the 2020 shortened MLR season, Poasa started all five matches, including two at the center and the other three at wing. San Diego Legion signed Peter Malcolm for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old hooker (27 in March)  is 6’1″ and 240 lbs. Peter was signed by Austin Elite Rugby for the inaugural 2018 MLR season. He was named captain, however, a pre-season knee injury derailed his playing during the regular season. Old Glory DC signed utility back Daniel Thomas for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. Daniel will be 26-years-old at the end of this month. He played flyhalf, while at UCLA and can also play scrumhalf. Daniel is from Farnham Common, England, and moved to the United States prior to attending high school. The 22-year-old flanker is 6’2″ and 215 lbs. Justin is from Inglewood, California, and attended Mira Costa High School where he played rugby beginning in his Sophomore year. He was a multisport athlete and also competed in basketball, football, and in various track and field events.
