Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

Rugby ATL re-signed Eamonn Matthews for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old scrumhalf/fullback (25 in April) is 5’8″ and 170 lbs. Eamonn played 9 minutes in 2 matches for the Ratlers in 2021. he also played for Pathway 404. Eamonn signed with Rugby ATL for the 2020 season but did not play in any regular-season matches. Chris played 576 minutes in 15 matches, starting 5 for the Legion in 2021. Chris is from Steamboat Springs, Colorado. The LA Giltinis has John Ryberg back for the second year of his contract through the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old wing (30 in March) is 5’11”, and 235 lbs. John played 1178 minutes for the  Giltinis in 16 matches, starting 15, and scored 9 tries, which was tied for third in the MLR.
