Major League Rugby is a professional USA league that began in 2018 and has teams in the U.S. and in Canada. Current MLR teams include Austin Elite Rugby, Glendale Raptors, Houston SaberCats, New Orleans Gold, Rugby United New York, San Diego Legion, Seattle Seawolves, Toronto Arrows, and the Utah Warriors. In 2020, teams in Atlanta, New England, and Washington, D.C. will join the league and have exhibition matches in 2019.

The Houston SaberCats re-signed Taylor Howden for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 34-year-old inside center/flyhalf is 6’0″ and 221 lbs. Taylor played 208 minutes in the five matches of the COVID-19 shortened 2020 season, starting twice and scoring a try. He is the team’s Director of Youth Development. Rugby United New York signed Dan Hollinshead for the 2021 Major league Rugby season. The 25-year-old flyhalf (26 in June) is 6’1″ and 205 lbs. Dan was born in Tauranga, New Zealand, and attended Tauranga Boys College. He played on the 1st XV in rugby and toured with the team to the United Kingdom and Hong Kong in 2013. The LA Giltinis signed Scotland Sevens international Glenn Bryce for the 2021 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old fullback (30 in June) is 6’2” and 215 lbs. Glenn was born in Alloa, Scotland, and attended Alloa Academy before Clackamashire Community College. He played rugby for Alloa RFC, Stirling County, and the Heriot’s RFC. Glenn represented Scotland’s U20s in the Six Nations and Junior World Rugby U20s Championship in 2010-2011 and then Scotland Sevens from 2015-2019.
