Men’s College Rugby has four levels, D1A, D1-AA, DII and NSCRO. Championships are held in each of these divisions in rugby 15s and in the later 3 divisions in sevens.

Post University Release In 2020, Crist Holveck became the first head coach in Post University men’s rugby history. The men’s rugby team will be the 24th varsity sport at Post University which is slated to start in the Fall of 2020. The Eagles will be a member of the New England Wide College Rugby Conference. Coach Holveck – a retired military officer – comes to Post from the United States Coast Guard Academy, where he was the Head Coach from 2014 – 2019 and was also the director of rugby.  He led a successful Division II rugby program with three…

NSCRO Release The Deep South Collegiate Rugby Conference is pleased to announce their commitment to joining NSCRO for Fall 2020 as a hybrid of the Small School Division and Open Division competition. The Deep South Conference has been a hybrid conference with NSCRO for the past few years, which has benefited both our teams in the D2 and Small College divisions. Our clubs have performed well in their split postseasons, and we are looking forward to continuing that in the 2020 competition fully in the NSCRO organization. NSCRO Release The Allegheny Rugby Union is pleased to announce its commitment to the NSCRO Open Division (D2) Competition beginning in Fall 2020.  The ARU Men’s Conference was created in April 2020 from teams moving from other conferences wanting to participate in this completion. NSCRO Release The Midwest College Rugby Conference is pleased to announce their commitment to joining NSCRO’s new Open Division competition beginning in Fall 2020.  The MCRC was created in 2017 to foster competition among regionally competitive programs and extend participating programs into national playoffs. Being a hybrid conference has benefited both our teams in the D2 and Small College divisions to date. Participating teams have performed well in their prospective division postseasons, and we are looking forward to strengthening that in the 2020 competition fully under the NSCRO umbrella. NSCRO Rugby Release The Southern Rugby Conference is pleased to announce its commitment to the NSCRO Open Division D2 Competition beginning in Fall 2020.  The SRC was created and Founded in January 2011 in accordance with USA Rugby’s College restructuring initiative.  Member teams have captured state, regional, and national championships. Two teams – Furman and Coastal Carolina – have collected a combined four small college national championships. NSCRO Release The Gateway Rugby Conference is pleased to announce their commitment to the NSCRO Open Division D2 Competition beginning Fall 2020. The Gateway Rugby Conference was created in 2012 as USA Rugby reorganized various aspects of community rugby. The initial teams joining the Gateway Conference came from the Missouri Rugby Football Union, the Heart of America Union, and the WI-IL Union. Most teams in the conference operate independent of any current geographic union. The conference has expanded from an initial seven D2 teams to it’s current ten squads over the past several years. NSCRO Release The Cardinals Collegiate Rugby Conference (CCRC) is pleased to announce their commitment to the NSCRO Open Division D2 Competition beginning in Fall 2020.  The Cardinals Collegiate Rugby Conference was created in 2013 when the Virginia Rugby Union dissolved.  The conference quickly grew to 23 teams and expanded its footprint to North Carolina (NC State; Queens and Duke) and Maryland (UMBC and Naval Academy developmental sides) as it adopted an “inclusive” philosophy and Hybrid scheduling system.  The Hybrid fall schedule included competition amongst D2 and Small College teams with the aim of limiting travel requirements while increasing more competitive…

National Small College Rugby Organization & New England Free Jacks Partner to Host All-Star Championship February 24, 2020— The National Small College Rugby Organization (NSCRO) today announced a partnership with Major League Rugby’s New England Free Jacks to host its third annual All-Star Championship. The Championship will take place from May 28 – 30, and will be held at Free Jacks Union Point Stadium in Weymouth, MA. The tournament will consist of eight men’s regional teams from across the US made up entirely of NSCRO student-athletes. The 2020 Texas Rattlesnakes have changed their tour plans and will now be touring Jamaica from May 29th-June 7th. Previously the team had planned to tour China. The Rattlesnakes will play the Jamaica National Men’s Team, as well as their National U23 Team. Head Coach Lachlan Ferguson has selected a squad of 30 players from nine different Texas Colleges following a two-day camp held in Huntsville, Texas hosted by Sam Houston State University.  Seven alternates have also been named as emergency reserves. Texas Rattlesnakes China 2020 Tour – Lachlan Ferguson The 2020 LoneStar Conference All-Stars Rugby Representative Team will be touring China from May 27th – June 6th, 2020. Games are being finalized against the Chinese Men’s National Team and the Beijing All-Stars Select XV. The Rattlesnakes have also been invited to compete in the Beijing 10s Rugby Tournament Sat May 30th and the Shanghai 10s Sat June 6th.
