Men’s College Rugby has four levels, D1A, D1-AA, DII and NSCRO. Championships are held in each of these divisions in rugby 15s and in the later 3 divisions in sevens.

September 16, 2016 Lindenwood Women Rugby Beats St. Louis Sabres Photo: Lindenwood University Athletics Lindenwood University Athletics Release Women’s rugby hit the Hunter Stadium pitch for the first time this season Friday night and came away with a 49-14 victory over the St. Louis Sabres. The first 20 minutes of the match stayed close with both teams trading scores, but the Lady Lions were able to take a 17-7 halftime lead.  Lindenwood used a balanced attack on both sides of the ball to pull away in the second half. September 15, 2016 Cal Announces New Rugby Additions Cal Athletics Release BERKELEY – Seventeen new student-athletes have joined the California Gold Bears rugby program for 2016-17. They are comprised of 16 freshmen and a transfer junior, with the majority of the new group hailing from Northern California, followed by two new additions from Southern California, one from Washington, D.C., two U.S. passport holders who were educated abroad and three new members of the team who come to Berkeley from the United Kingdom. The Wheeling Jesuit Men’s Rugby team was coached by Peter Malcolm and Allan Hanson for the first three matches. In the interim, Tommy Duffy was hired as the new Head Coach of Wheeling Jesuit. With the win, the Bobcats improved to 2-0 in National Intercollegiate Rugby Association play, while the Yellowjackets fall to 0-2. September 12, 2016 Army West Point Women’s Rugby Tops Dartmouth Doug Coil The Army West Point women’s rugby topped Dartmouth, 63-12, at the Anderson Rugby Complex on Friday evening. This was the second highest total in program history. Both teams now have 1-1 records. Dartmouth scored first with a try from Frankie Sands and successful conversion by Kat Ramage in the sixth minute. September 10, 2016 Rutgers Men’s Rugby Travels and Edges Delaware Doug Coil The University of Delaware hosted Rutgers University Men’s Rugby Club in the Fall season opener for both clubs. Rutgers emerged with a hard fought 15-12 win and will feel good as they prepare for their Keystone Rugby Conference season against Villanova in two weeks. September 6, 2016 Western State Men’s Rugby Gains Win Against Montana State Doug Coil Western State Colorado University Men’s Rugby Club played Montana State University in the first Rocky Mountain Rugby Conference match of the season. Western, who finished second in the Conference last year, emerged with the victory, 34-24. Western took a 14 point lead early during the first half, but back-to back tries by co-captains Arik Lebeck and Ben Morris, plus a Morris conversion had Montana State right back in the match.
