The Rakavii Rugby Academy will be host men’s, women’s, high school and midi rugby camps, clinics and tournaments. Sahlen’s Sports Park is a 200,000 sq. ft. multi-sport facility, with four indoor fields, two brand new full-sized outdoor turf fields, a fitness center, and a café. The Old Glory Capital Selects will play USA Rugby South Selects and Development Sides on Saturday, December 7 in Richmond, Virginia. It was announced earlier this month that Old Glory DC and the Capital Rugby Union formed a partnership to begin the creation of a cohesive player development pathway for the Mid-Atlantic region. The 2019 TRU Women’s Rugby All-Star Challenge is being held on December 7-8 in Austin, Texas at the Austin Huns rugby complex. The eight-team competition will include a Texas Rugby Union All-Star team, as well as the TRU Women’s Collegiate U24 team for the first time. Other Union teams include the Mid-America, USA South, Old Glory Capital Selects, Pacific Northwest, the Midwest All-Stars and a TRU Motley Crew. Mike Petri was named head coach of New York Athletic Club Rugby for the 2019 Elite Cup season. The Rugby United New York captain was named to the preliminary training squad for the 2019 Rugby World Cup. He had an outstanding MLR season and was named to the All-MLR Second Team. Following the season, he continued to be involved with rugby coaching clinics. Mike’s rugby career began his freshman year in 1998 at Xavier High School. He helped to lead the team to 3rd place in the East Coast Championship in 1999, and to becoming East Coast Champions in 2000-2002.…

The Women’s Premier League (WPL) kicks off the 2019 Fall season on Saturday with ORSU vs Berkely, In the 2018 WPL Championship, the  San Diego Surfers defeated Glendale 34-28, New York won the bronze with a 35-15 win over Twin Cities Amazon. Berkeley All Blues claimed 5th place with a 39-5 win over ORSU, Atlanta beat Chicago North Shore 42-7 for 7th place, with Beantown beating the DC Furies for 9th place.
