The third leg of the Men’s Northeast Sevens was won by Mystic River Rugby Club with a 26-17 victory over Old Blue 26-17.Fairfield Yankees were in third place with Mystic River 2 in fourth. The Men’s Northeast Sevens Standings have Old Blue in first place with 63 points, Mystic River in second with 60 points, and the Fairfield Yankees in third place with 49 points. Mexico defeated Jamaica 19-15 to win the 2019 Rugby Americas North Sevens. Both teams qualified to the Repechage tournament next June. The winner of that tournament will qualify for the 2020 Olympics. Canada Men’s Rugby went undefeated in the 2019 Rugby Americas North Sevens and secured a spot in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. They join host Japan, Argentina and the HBSC Sevens Series top four in Fiji, USA, New Zealand, and South Africa. Canada swept Pool A in beating Barbados 47-0, Mexico 49-5, and Bermuda 55-0. USA Rugby has named its 2019 U.S. Pan American Games Women’s Sevens team. The Games will take place from July 26 to August 11 with rugby played from July 26-28. USA Rugby announced Swope Soccer Village in Kansas City, Missouri as the location for the 2019 Club 7s National Championship on August 10-11. Qualifying tournaments will begin June 29th in San Francisco and Philadelphia. The Kansas City Blues, who twice were National Runners-Up in this competition, supported the bid along with Major League Soccer club Sporting Kansas City. USA Rugby Release As part of its commitment to deliver a robust and inclusive talent identification and verification system, USA Rugby will present an annual Women’s National Development Invitational Tournament (NDIT) in sevens featuring academy and invitational sides as well as the Collegiate All-Americans (WCAA).
