Anthem Rugby Carolina Signs Declan Moore

Anthem Rugby Carolina signed Declan Moore for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old hooker is 6’0″ and 247 lbs.

Declan was born in New Zealand and moved to Australia when he was young. He played in 3 rugby league matches for the Sydney. Stars in the 2015 National Rugby Championship and 7 matches for the 2019 Sydney Rays in the NRC. He played rugby union for Sydney University from 2015 through 2021 in the New South Wales Shute Shield.  In 2016 he was selected for the Australia U20s, but an injury precluded him from playing.

He was selected by the Melbourne Rebels for the 2019-2020 season but did not play during the Super Rugby and the Super Rugby AU seasons.

Declan then moved to Ireland to play with Munster in the United Rugby Championship and the Champions Cup for the 2021-2022 season. Declan is Irish-qualified through his paternal grandfather from Carrick Fergus and his maternal relatives in Castierea.

Declan also played for Ulster and joined Anthem Rugby Carolina after playing for Connacht.
