Seattle Seawolves Obtains Tyren Al-Jiboori

The Seattle Seawolves obtained Tyren Al-Jiboori for the 2024 Major League Rugby season in a trade with the San Diego Legion for 2024 salary cap considerations. Tyren was the Legion’s 2023 MLR Collegiate draft first-round pick (#12). The 22-year-old wing is 6’2″ and 220 lbs.

Tyren grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and is from a rugby family with his brothers Michael and Malon (Eagle #520) having played professional rugby. He attended Union High School from 2015 through his graduation in 2018. While there, he played varsity football as a strong and free safety and also played rugby.

In 2016 he was named a High School All Americans 7s team that competed at the Las Vegas Invitational. He also played with the Eagle Impact Rugby Academy U16s for their British Columbia, Canadian tour that year. He was selected to represent the EIRA U-18s tour in Ireland where the team played against age-grade Ulster and Leinster sides and was selected for the 2018 Youth Olympics.

Tryen attended Lindenwood University from 2018 through his graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science in 2022. He was named to the USA Rugby All-Americans Sevens 2nd Team. after his Freshman year. In 2022 He earned College Rugby Association of America 1st Team All-American honors, and in 2022 was also named to the USA U-23s team.

Tyren played with the USA Falcons in 2021, NYAC rugby in 2022 and with the St Louis Bombers in 2023.
