The Dallas Jackals signed Ronnie McElligott, their third-round selection (#32) in the 2023 MLR Collegiate Draft, for the 2024 season. The 23-year-old flanker is 6’0″ and 215 lbs.
Ronnie is from San Francisco, California, and has been playing rugby since he was nine years old after he switched over from Gaelic football. He played for San Francisco Golden Gate Rugby Club through high school varsity, before transferring to Saint Mary’s College.
Ronnie attended Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory from 2014 through his graduation in 2018. In high school, he also played varsity football in 2016 and 2017. He attended Saint Mary’s College of California from 2018 through his graduation with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and 2022 was selected to the D1A Rugby Collegiate All-American Third-Team.
