Chicago Hounds Re-Signs Mika Felix

The Chicago Hounds re-signed Mikaele Felix for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 22-year-old tighthead prop (23 in January) is 6’0″ and 265 lbs.

Mika played 94 minutes in 5 matches, starting once, for the Chicago Hounds in 2023. He had 26 ruck arrivals, carried the ball three times for 10 meters and completed 18 of his 22 tackle attempts.

Mika spent the 2022 season with the Austin Gilgronis but did not see any regular-season playing time.

The native of Sydenham, New Zealand attended St Patrick’s College, Silverstream from 2015 through his graduation in 2019 and played rugby for the first XV. He also played for the Wellington Samoans Under-18s  in 2018.

Mika is USA-eligible and has been a participant in the USA age-grade program. He was selected for the USA Under 20 team in 2020 and in 2022 toured with the USA Falcons to Montevideo, Uruguay to play Argentina XV and Uruguay XV.
