The New England Free Jacks signed Chilean National Team captain Martin Sigren through the 2026 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old flanker (28 in May) is 6’2″ and 225 lbs.
Martin is from Santiago, Chile, and went to Adolfo Ibáñez University. He played rugby for the Old Boys Club in Santiago.
From 2020 through 2022, he played for Selkham in the Superliga Americana de Rugby before becoming the first Chilean rugby player to play in England when he played for Doncaster Knights during the 2022-2023 season.
Martin made his debut for the Chilean National Team in 2016 and has earned 31 international caps. He became the team’s captain in 2020 and helped lead the Los Cóndores to their first Rugby World Cup (RWC) qualification in July of 2022. He also started all 4 games at the 2023 Rugby World Cup. He also was the Chile XV captain in the Sudamericano Cuatro Naciones.
