San Diego Legion Re-Signs Christian Poidevin Through 2026

San Diego Legion re-signed Christian Poidevin through the 2026 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old back-row is 6’1″ and 216 lbs.

Christian played834 minutes in 12 matches, starting 10, and scoring 5 tries for San Diego Legion in 2023. He then returned to Australia to play for Randwick.

Christian played 687 minutes in 16 matches, starting 14, and scored 2 tries for the LA Giltinis in 2022. He played 769 minutes in 12 starts and scored 2 tries for the Giltinis in 2021.

Christian is from Coogee, New South Wales, Australia, and attended Newington College, where he played rugby. He was introduced to rugby at an early age, as his father Simon, had 59 caps for Australia, won the Rugby World Cup in 1991, and was the team’s captain.

Christian was the Randwick Colts 1st grade captain in 2018, and he was honored with the Best & Fairest Award as the competition’s best played with the Colts going undefeated.

During the 2019 season he started in 16 matches for Randwick in the Shute Shield, and also played in one match for the Sydney Rays in the National Rugby Championship. In 2020 he also played four times for the Sydney Rays and had 11 starts for Randwick in the Shute Shield. Christian also gained experience playing against Argentina in Randwick’s loss in 2019.

Christian continued his education after leaving Newington College and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from the University of New South Wales.

Christian has links to the U.S. as his mother is Robin Fahlstrom, whose family members reside in Chicago.
