San Diego Legion re-signed Canadian international Djustice Sears-Duru for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old loosehead prop (30 in May) is 6’1″ and 270 lbs.
DJustice played 380 minutes in 13 matches, starting 2, for San Diego Legion in 2022. He then played two matches for the Canadian National Team against Tonga during Summer 2023.
Djustice played in 13 matches, starting 7, and scored one try to the LA Giiltinis in 2022. Djustice also played for the Canadian National Team during the Summer and in the November tests against the Netherlands and Namibia.
During the 2021 season, Djustice played 632 minutes in 13 matches, starting 10, for the Seattle Seawolves. He then played with the Canadian National Team. During the truncated 2020 MLR season, Djustice started all five matches. In 2019, Sears-Duru played 530 minutes in 10 matches, scored 1 try, carried 38 times for 156 meters, and made 94 tackles.
Djustice is from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, and lives in Oakville, Ontario. He is a 2011 graduate of Shawnigan Luke High School. He then attended Camosun College from 2013-2014 and also the University of Hertfordshire.
He played rugby for the Oakville Crusaders and toured England as a 13-year-old with the team. From 2011-2013 he played at the Leicester Tigers Academy.
Djustice also played for the Ontario Blues Under-16s, two seasons with Canada Under-17s, and from 2013 to 2014 played with Canada’s Under-20s, including the IRB World Junior Trophy competition.
He played Senior rugby with the Glasgow Warriors from 2016-2017, Ayr in the Scottish Premiership in 2016-2017, the Ealing Trailfinders in 2017-2018, the Toronto Arrows in 2018, and joined the Seattle Seawolves in 2019.
He also has played club rugby with the Castaway Wanderers in the British Columbia CDI Premier League, as well as provincial rugby for the Ontario Blues.
Djustice made his debut for Canada’s National Team against Portugal on November 23, 2013, and has played 64 tests for Canada, including 4 at the 2015 Rugby World Cup and 3 at the 2019 RWC.
