Old Glory DC Mike Dabulas 2024 Profile

Old Glory DC re-signed Mike Dabulas for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old flyhalf/fullback/wing (27 in December) is 5’11” and 185lbs.

Mike played 304 minutes in 6 matches, starting 2, and scoring 2 tries for Old Glory DC before an injury curtailed his 2023 season.

Mike played in 6 matches in 2022, scoring 3 tries. He played 944 minutes in 13 matches, starting 12, and played flyhalf, wing, and fullback in 2021. He scored two tries and had 69 ball carries for 733 meters, 31 tackle breaks, and five linebreaks. He kicked for 642 meters over 22 total kicks.

“While Dabulas made appearances in only two games in 2020, (listed as a reserve in all five matches, played 18 minutes) his presence on the pitch did not go unnoticed. Coming off the bench with less than ten minutes left in the team’s MLR debut in New Orleans, Dabulas managed to claim one of two Old Glory tries following a cross-field kick from Dylan Taikato Simpson.”

Mike is from Westfield, New Jersey, and attended Westfield High School, where he played youth rugby for the Union Rugby Football Club Mudturtles. While on the Under-18s, the team won the Rugby New Jersey Division 1 State Championship. Following his graduation in 2015, he attended Penn State University until 2019 earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Energy, Business, and Finance. He was a First Team All Rugby East in 2016 and served as the team’s captain while there. He attended the Men’s Collegiate All-American Selection Camp in 2018 and in 2019 and was an All-American those years.

Mike played for Atlantis and won the New York Sevens College Men’s Division in 2015 and played with the Under-18s at the Rugbytown 7s in 2017, winning the Championship over the Utah Lions.

On July 27, 2019, Dubulas was on the All-American Squad that defeated an All-Canadian University All-Stars 23-22 at Infinity Park in Glendale, CO. The match served as a curtain-raiser for the senior Men’s Eagles test match against rival Canada, as part of Pacific Nations Cup 2019.

Mike made his senior debut for the USA Men’s National XVs team against Canada in a 2023 Rugby World Cup Qualifier and then played against the New Zealand All Blacks on October 23, 2021, at FedEx Field.
