Dallas Jackals Acquires Daemon Torres

The Dallas Jackals obtained Daemon Torres for the 2024 Major League Rugby season after a trade with LA for salary cap considerations. The 26-year-old back row (27 in January) is 6’3″ and 240 lbs.

Daemon played 414 minutes in 12 matches, starting 4, with Rugby ATL in 2023. He then played for Tennessee Elite Rugby during the Fall American Rugby Premiership season.

Daemon played 734 minutes in 12 matches, starting 10, and scored three tries for the Ratlers in 2022.  He also carried for 481 meters and made 104 tackles. He played 143 minutes in 6 matches, starting 2, for the Ratlers in 2021. He then returned to play with the Academy team, Pathway 404 during the Fall.

Daemon is from Round Rock, Texas, and attended Stony Point High School. He played football in high school and rugby with Rock Rugby Club. He was also an Atavus High School All-Star at the Las Vegas Invitational.

Daemon attended Life University from 2015 to 2019 and following his graduation, served as an assistant coach of the Undergraduate Men’s team under head coach, Colton Cariaga. While at Life, he was a four-time D1A National Champion.

He played with Pathway 404 in 2020, as well as for the Atlanta Old White 7s team.
