The Dallas Jackals signed Connor Olivera, their third-round selection (#29) in the 2023 MLR Collegiate Draft, for the 2024 season. The 25-year-old wing (26 in March) is 6’0″ and 200 lbs.
Connor is from Oswego, Illinois, and graduated from Lone Peak High School where he played football and basketball. He played rugby in high school for the United Rugby Club, winning two state championships, and also placing third place twice.
He graduated from Brigham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications, Public Relations. He played rugby for the Cougars from 2018 through 2021 and again in 2023 after returning from a two-year mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Phoenix, Arizona. BYU won 5 conference championships while he was there and finished in the final four in 2023.
Connor also was a BYU Rugby Camp Coach in 2021 and a Provo Steelers Backline Coach in 2019.
