Miami Sharks Signs Manuel Ardao

The Miami Sharks signed Uruguay international Manuel Ardao for the 2024 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old flanker/hooker (25 in September) is 5’10” and 210 lbs.

Manuel, who has 23 caps for Uruguay, will join the team after playing for Uruguay in the 2023 Rugby World Cup.

He played youth rugby with Christian Brothers College and senior level rugby with Old Christians.

He played age grade rugby with the Uruguay U20s in the 2017 and 2018 World Rugby Trophy competition. He also represented Uruguay on the World Rugby Sevens Series in 2018 and 2023, as well as playing in the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens.

He played professionally for Peñarol from 2920 through 2023 and was the Super Liga Americano de Rugby MVP in 2022.
