NOLA Gold Adds Rory Edwards

NOLA Gold added Rory Edwards for the remainder of the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 29-year-old scrumhalf is 5’10” and 165 lbs.

Rory was born in the United States and moved to Australia at age 12 where he resides in Perth, Western Australia. After graduating high school in 2010, he played over 250  rugby matches for Cottesloe Rugby Football Club, which was part of the Fortescue Premier Grade team that won 3 premierships from 2019 through 2021. He also played rugby for the University of Western Australia and was the team’s captain at the 2015 UniGames.

He attended the University of Western Australia from 2012 through his graduation in 2015 with a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Mechanical Engineering and then continued to obtain a Master’s Degree in Engineering in 2017.

He relocated to New Orleans for business recently and is currently Vice President and Club Captain of New Orleans Rugby Club, which advanced to the Final of the D2 Gulf Coast Super Regionals of the 2023 USA Club XVs Nationals.

Rory also played representative-level touch football (touch rugby) at the Southern Districts Touch Football Association in Perth from 2014 to 2022 and was captain of the Men’s Open side from 2019-2022. He is currently coaching the representative sides at NOLA Touch, prepping for nationals in October 2023.
