The Utah Warriors signed Sam Faoagali for the remainder of the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 20-year-old hooker is 5’10” and 240 lbs.
Sam was born in American Samoa and moved with his family to New Zealand. He later joined his brothers Falaniko, Mathew, and Joseph to play for Perth Bayswater Rugby Union Club in the FMG Premiership rugby in Perth, Australia. He also played for Curtin University Rugby Club in Perth.
Sam’s brother Mathew played for the Houston SaberCats in 2019.
Sam was selected for the USA Hawk’s 2023 tour of South America and their matches in the United States while training in Charlotte, North Carolina.
