Chicago Hounds Signs Steveni Lombard

The Chicago Hounds signed Steveni Lombard for the remainder of the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old hooker, who has played loose head prop, (24 in May) is 5’11” and 270 lbs.

Steveni was born in Tonga and raised in Laie, Hawaii. He graduated from Kahuku High School in 2017. He was a running back in football and played rugby. He toured New Zealand in 2017 with Kahuku Rugby Club and was the team’s captain for its last two matches.

He enrolled at Utah Technical University in 2017 as a General Studies major. In 2020 he went to Iowa as a missionary with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Steveni joins the Chicago Hounds after playing in Ireland since October with the Buccaneers in the All-Ireland League Division 1B.
