I caught up with Gift Egbelu at Mount Vernon Memorial Stadium on March 19 at the Rugby New York Ironworkers match against the New England Free Jacks. Gift and I first met in Chicago in 2014 at the USA vs New Zealand All Blacks match.
Gift has his own rugby network and media production company, Gift-Time Rugby Network, and Gift-Time Media & Productions. He is involved in promoting the HBCU Rugby Classic being held at Howard University on March 31 through April 2, 2023. He will have more to tell about this event as a guest journalist for DJCoil Rugby later this week.
Gift, aka “The King”, also appears on the wildly popular Rugby Wrap-Up program, The Rugby Odds, which is hosted by Matt McCarthy. He is joined on the program by WWE Champion, John Layfield.
