The Toronto Arrows signed Tautalatasi Tasi for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 28-year-old center is 5’10” and 230 lbs.
Tautalatasi was born in Auckland, New Zealand, and moved to Queensland, Australia at a young age. He played junior rugby league with the Goodna Eagles before playing with his hometown team, the Ipswich Jets in the Queensland Cup in 2013-2014.
He joined the Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs New South Wales Cup side for 2014-2015 and then the North Sydney Bears for 2016-2017. He also played with the South Sydney Rabbitohs in the NRL in 2016 and the New South Wales Residents in 2017.
Tautalatasiswitched to rugby union in 2018, playing with the Queensland Premier Rugby Souths, and then in the National Rugby Championship in 2019 with Brisbane City.
In 2019 he signed with the Melbourne Rebels for the Super Rugby pre-season before joining the New South Wales Waratahs later that year, where he played in one match.
During the pandemic-disrupted season, he played with the Sunwolves in Japan and in the off-season with the Gordon Highlanders, where the team won their first Shute Shield Championship in 22 years. In 2021-2022 he played in the Queensland Premier Rugby competition with Bond University and was the Bull Sharks Player of the Year. He played briefly with GPS Rugby Club in 2022 before returning to Japan to play with the Tokyo Gas in the 2022-2023 season and helped them win the Top East League Championship.
