Rugby New York Signs Bill Whiteside

Rugby New York Ironworkers signed William Whiteside, their third-round pick in the 2022 MLR Collegiate draft, as part of the extended squad for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old lock is 6’5″ and 235 lbs.

Bill is from Piedmont, California where he attended Piedmont High School. He played varsity football and lacrosse. He attended Lindenwood University from 2017 through his graduation in 2021. The team was a national D1A contender and he was named to the USA Under-23s team in 2021.

During the FAll 2022 season, Bill played with Old Blue in the American Rugby Premiership.
