Dallas Jackals Re-Signs Adriaan Booysen

The Dallas Jackals re-signed Jan Adriaan Booysen for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old back-row (27 in May) is 6’2” and 240 lbs.

Adriaan played 713 minutes in 12 matches, starting 8, and scored 1 try for the Dallas jackals in 2022. He also played in two matches against Spain and Canada during the November 2022 tests for Namibia.

He played 814 minutes in 16 matches, starting 8, and scoring 3 tries for the SaberCats in 2021.

Adriaan played 319 minutes in all five matches for Houston during the COVID-19-shortened season, starting four times at No.8 and scoring one try.

Adriaan is from Gobabis, Namibia, a city in the eastern portion of the country. He attended Privaatskool Etnatan in Stampriet, Namibia, and then studied law at the University of the Free State in South Africa.

In 2016-2017, Adriaan played rugby with the Wanderers Rugby Club and since 2017 with the Welwitschias in the Supersport Rugby Challenge.

Adriaan has 11 caps for Namibia, making his debut for the National Team against Senegal on 8 July 2017, scoring a try. He played in the 2019 Rugby World Cup against South Africa and his last match was against Canada on November 11, 2022. He has 2 tries in international tests.
