Dallas Jackals Signs Patrick Medina

The Dallas Jackals signed Michael Patrick Medina for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old center (25 in February) is 6’2″ and 210 lbs.

Patrick is from Austin, Texas, and attended Lake Travis High School. He enjoyed the chance to play with his brother Nic and his father Rick with the Austin Blacks Rugby Club.

After graduating high school, he played rugby in Cork, Ireland for Dolphin Rugby Club before returning home to play with the Austin Blacks Division 1 side. He played with the  Republic of Texas All-Stars in Bermuda in 2018.

Patrick was signed with the Dallas Jackals in 2021 as a development player, but after the team postponed entry to the league, he played professionally with  CR La Vila in the Spanish Division de honors A during the  2021-2022 season. He then played with Hartpury RFC 4 matches in the English Championship preseason in 2022.

USA Rugby

In 2018 Patrick played for the USA under-20s in the World Rugby U20s Trophy Qualifier against Canada while he was playing for the Austin Blacks.

In October 2022 he played with the USA Falcons in Montevideo, Uruguay against Argentina Xv and Uruguay XV.
