Dallas Jackals Re-Signs Jalen Tatum

The Dallas Jackals re-signed Jalen Tatum for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old flanker is 6’5″ and 245 lbs. American Rugby News has spotted Jalen practicing with the team during the preseason.

Jalen played 20 minutes in one start for the Dallas Jackals in 2022. He did not play in any regular-season matches for Rugby ATL in 2021 but played for Pathway 404, the team’s Academy team in 2020 and 2021.

Jalen was a crossover athlete who played lacrosse for 9 years by his senior year at Kennesaw Mountain High School. Following his graduation in 2016, he attended Kennesaw State University, graduating in 2020. 

Jalen is relatively new to rugby having played it for the last three years. He signed with Pathway 404 in 2020 and started as an openside flanker for both Black v Silver matches and the team’s 51-0 with over Nola Gold Academy. This year, sees him converting to playing wing.

He played with the USA Rugby High-Performance Academy in the Summer of 2021.
