Old Glory DC signed Argentina international Ramiro Herrera for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 33-year-old tighthead prop (34 in February) is 6’3″ and 280 lbs.
Ramiro was born in Comodoro Rivadavia, Argentina. He began playing rugby locally for Chenque Rugby Club before playing with Hindú Club in the Torneo de la URBA for four years from 2009 to 2013. In 2013 he was selected for the Pampas XV in the Vodacom Cup and 2014 for their tour of Australia.
In the 2014-2015 season, he played with Castres in France making 22 appearances before returning to Hindú Club in 2015.
In 2016-2017 he played Super Rugby with the Jaguares making 11 appearances. He then returned to France for two years to play with Stade Franćais playing 27 times.
Ramiro played internationally for the Argentina Jaguars in 2012-2013 and the Pumas from 2016 where he made his debut against Ireland at Resistencia on June 7, 2014. The last of his 39 caps (29 starts) was against Australia in Brisbane on July 27, 2019. Seven of his matches were at the 2015 Rugby World Cup.
