Old Glory DC signed Calixto Martinez, who was their first-round selection and 3rd overall, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old prop is 5’9″ and 240 lbs.
Cali is from White Rock, British Columbia. He attended Earl Marriott Secondary and the University of British Columbia, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Geography with a minor in Political Science.
Cali played age-grade rugby for Canada, playing for the Under-17s in 2017, and the Under-20s in both 2015 and 2016. He’s won Canadian University Championships with the UBC Thunderbirds and also played club rugby with Bayside RFC.
Cali is an outdoorsman and has worked in the forests of British Columbia. His hobbies include hiking, backpacking, snowshoeing, and rock climbing.
