Old Glory DC re-signed Brady Daniel, the brother of Old Glory flanker Cory Daniel, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old flanker 24 in June) is 5’11” and 220 lbs.
Brady played 7 minutes in one match for Old Glory in 2022. He then re-joined the American Raptors for the Fall.
Brady was born in Silver Spring, Maryland, and grew up in Fulton. He attended River Hill High School in Clarksville for his Freshman and Sophomore years before transferring to Olney for his Junior and Senior years. He was on the wrestling team for 4 years and was a 3-time State Champion (1 in public school in 2015, and 2 in private school). In his senior year, he was introduced to rugby. he also played 4 years of football as a linebacker, playing 31 games and making 300 tackles. In 2017 he graduated high school and was named the 2017 Male Athlete of the Year Award for his achievements in football, wrestling, and rugby.
Brady attended Arizona State University from 2017 through his graduation with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Business Sustainability from the W.P.Carey School of Business. He wrestled for 3 years and was a walk-on in football briefly at fullback before the COVID pandemic.
Following his graduation, he spent one season with the Colorado XO Raptors, and two with the American Raptors. He also spent the 2022 winter preseason with Old Glory DC. before returning to the Raptors. He initially began playing scrumhalf before being switched to flanker.
