Houston SaberCats Signs Vereniki Tikoisolomone

The Houston SaberCats signed speedster Vereniki Tikoisolomone for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old wing is 6’2″ and 200 lbs.

Vereniki was born in Taveuni, Fiji. He attended Holy Cross College and Lelean Memorial. He played rugby in the Vodafone Fiji Secondary School Rugby Championship winning in the final for East One over West One in 2017 and for Flying Fijian’s Sevens Seremaia Bai’s Academy. The latter led to his inclusion on Fiji’s extended U20s squad and the Fiji National Development 7s team in 2018.

He has played for Waverly Harvest Border Rugby Club, Rakaviti Rugby Club, New Zealand Barbarians, and Whanganui Rugby Clubs, the latter of which he was the leading try scorer in the league in 2019.

Vereniki played 548 minutes in 15 matches, starting 6, and scored 6 tries for the Taranaki Bulls during the 2021 and 2022 Bunnings National Provincial Championship. He also was an injury replacement for the  Highlanders Super Rugby Pacific Squad.
