Houston SaberCats Signs Rob Cobb

The Houston SaberCats signed Rob Cobb for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old loosehead prop (24 in April) is 6’2″ and 260 lbs.

Rob is from Auckland, New Zealand. He played for Auckland, Ponsonby, and the Hamilton Old Boys. In 2018 and 2019 he played for the New Zealand Under-20s in the World Rugby U20s Championship.

Rob played 799 minutes in 27 matches, starting 9,  and scored 1 try with Waikato in the Mitre 10 Cup/Bunnings National Provincial Championship from 2019 through 2022. He also made 1 appearance in the 2018/2019 season for the Waikato Chiefs in the Super Rugby Aotearoa competition. In 2020 he was on the Chiefs’ wider training squad and in 2022 was also listed as a member of their squad.
