NOLA Gold signed Anelisa ‘Ani’ Mteto for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old fullback is 6’1″ and 210 lbs.
Ani is from Port Elizabeth, South Africa. He graduated from Kingswood College in 2013. He attended Iowa Central Community College from 2017-2018 before transferring to Lindenwood University in 2018 and graduating in 2022. He played rugby at all three institutions and also played with the Kansas City Blues and St Louis Bombers in USA Club Sevens Nationals and with Dallas RFC at the Freetail 7s.
Ani played with NOLA Gold’s Academy team in the Fall 2022 American Rugby Premiership.
