NOLA Gold signed Chase Jones, their 2022 MLR Collegiate Draft first-round pick, 6th overall, for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old lock/flanker is 6’4″ and 240 lbs.
Chase is from Davis, California, and played rugby at Davis High School for the first two years and then with Dixon High School, which had merged with Davis. He was a USA High School All-American in 2017.
Chase attended Saint Mary’s College of California in 2017 and graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration and Management Degree in 2021 and in 2022 with a Master of Business Administration and Management Degree. In 2019 he was selected to the USA Under 20s and in 2022 to the D1A Collegiate All-American 1st team at lock. The team finished second in the nation in 2022.
He also played with NOLA Gold’s Academy team.
