Toronto Arrows Signs Conan O’Donnell

The Toronto Arrows signed Irish prop Conan O’Donnell for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old Loosehead prop (27 in May) is 5’10” and 260 lbs.

Conan is from Sligo, Ireland, and played his amateur rugby at Summerhill College, Sligo Rugby Club in the All-Ireland League (2014-17), at the University of Galway 2014-17), and the Buccaneers (2017-19).

He played age-grade rugby for Ireland with the Under-18s in 2014 (5 matches) and for the Under-20s in 2015 and 2016 Six Nations U20 Championship and the 2015 World Rugby U20 Championship in Italy (15 matches).

Conan began his professional career in 2014 with Connacht Academy and through 2019 played with the Connacht Eagles, and for the senior side in Pro 12 (4m), European Challenge Cup (6m) British and Irish Cup (4m).

He also played in 25 Mitre 10 Cup/ Bunnings National Provincial Championship matches from 2019 through 2022. This includes 19 matches with Counties Manukau (2019 & 2020), Canterbury (0 in 2021), and Northland (6 in 2022).

Conan played Super Rugby in 5 matches with the Sunwolves in 2019, in a 2020 preseason match with the Crusaders, then twice with the Highlanders that year.
