NOLA Gold signed Sebastiano Villani, who was the second overall pick at the 2022 Major League Rugby Draft, through the 2024 season. The 22-year-old scrum-half is 5’9″ and 190 lbs/
Villani began playing rugby back in 2005 in his hometown of Milan, Italy. After moving to the United States, he graduated from Greenwich High School, where he played varsity rugby and was named to the USA High School All -Americans.
He attended St. Bonaventure University from 2018 through his graduation in 2022, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business management. He played rugby for the Bonnies and won a Division 1 national championship in 2021.
He was a standout player in the Collegiate Rugby Shield, where he played for the Peaks at Utah Warriors’ Zions Bank Stadium in July 2022. Following his selection by NOLA Gold, he played with their Academy team in the American Rugby Premiership in the Fall.
