The Utah Warriors re-signed Jamie Lane for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 26-year-old lock (27 in November) is 6’7″ and 245 lbs.
Jamie played 411 minutes in his six starts for the Utah Warriors in 2022. A shoulder injury in the seventh game of the season forced Lane to miss the remaining nine matches. He rejoins the team after playing with Auckland.
He is from Auckland, New Zealand. He attended Howick College from 2009-2011 and then Sacred Heart College from 2012-2013. During the 2013 rugby season, he was the team’s captain.
In 2013 he also represented the New Zealand Schools and in 2015 played for the New Zealand U20s in one match at the Oceania Junior Championships at the Gold Coast.
From 2014-2017, Jamie attended Unitec Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Engineering Technology, Civil Engineering Degree. During this time he played for Auckland Marist Rugby Club in 2015 and Ponsonby in 2016 through the 2021 season.
Jamie played Mitre 10 Cup rugby with Auckland from 2017 through 2019 and then in the newly named Bunning NPC with the team in 2021.
