Rugby New York added Peter Reyes, their 2021 MLR Collegiate Draft Round 3, pick 36, for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old loosehead prop is 6’2″ and 240 lbs.
Peter played with White Plains during the Fall 2021 American Rugby Premiership and with Old Blue and the New York Foundry in 2022. The Kutztown University graduate practiced with players from the Academy, as well as with Rugby New York.
Peter is from Brooklyn, New York, and attended Xavier High School from 2012-to 2016, where he played football and rugby. Following his graduation, he attended Wheeling Jesuit University, where he played rugby from 2016-to 2017 before transferring to Kutztown University (2017-2021), graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice/Safety Studies. He continued playing rugby there, as well as for Rugby United New York U23s in 2019, and 2021.
Peter played with White Plains Rugby Football Club after graduation and played with the team in the American Rugby Premiership this Fall. He also has been working with Rugby New York player, Sam Windsor, and Strength and Conditioning Coach Ollie Richardson, along with other Academy Foundry players this Fall.
Peter, who has played with USA Rugby South U23s and the Senior Men’s team, was recently invited to play for the Panthers in 2022 against Columbia and Mexico.
