Rugby New York Adds Antonio Kiri Kiri

Rugby New York signed Antonio Kiri Kiri for the remainder of the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 30-year-old flanker is 6’2″ and 230 lbs.

Antonio joins the team after playing for the Cornish Pirates since 2019, making 36 appearances in the English RFU Championship.

Antonio is from Whanganui, New Zealand, and holds New Zealand and Italian passports, the latter as the result of his mother being from Italy before moving to New Zealand when she was 11 years old.

Tonio attended Palmerston North Boys’ High School and later at Auckland University, where he played for the Vipers. He also played for Old Boys Marist.

He made 60 appearances for the Manawatu Turbos in the ITM Cup (Mitre 10 Cup), between 2012-and 2018, and made three Super Rugby appearances for the Blues in 2018, before signing with Yorkshire Carnegie for the 2018-19 season, and Leeds Tykes.

Tonio also played for New Zealand Schools and the All Blacks Sevens for four World Series stops in Capetown in 2015 and 2016, as well as Singapore and Dubai in 2016.
