Rugby ATL and Isaac Bales

Rugby ATL drafted Isaac Bales in the 2021 Major League Draft. The 22-year old Hooker is 5’9” and 245 lbs.

Isaac hoped that his performance with the Academy team, Pathway 404, would prepare him for the 2022 MLR season, however, a knee injury likely has him focusing on his recovery and the 2023 season.

Isaac attended Glenwood Community School and was the captain of its rugby club. He was also the MVP of the Lindenwood High School tournament, captain of USA Rugby South Age Grade team, Eagle Impact Rugby Academy captain, Nebraska Selects captain and rated #4 as a hooker in high school.

He attended the University of Louisville graduating in 2021 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Welding Technology/ Engineering. Rugby accolades continued with honors as Freshman of the Year D1 player, 2018 and 2019 MAC First team All-Conference, and the 6th ranked D1AA Hooker throughout his collegiate career. He also was the captain of USA Rugby South again in 2022.

Rugby ATL thought that Isaac would have a bright future with the team and expect him to contribute when healthy.
