Dallas Jackals Obtains Campbell Robinson

The Dallas Jackals obtained Campbell Robinson and Asa Carter from Austin Gilgronis in exchange for an International Slot for the remaining 2022 season (except against Dallas), and receive 2022 salary cap considerations and Austin’s second-round 2022 MLR Collegiate draft choice.

Austin Gilgronis signed Campbell Robinson for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 24-year-old lock/back row is 6’4″ and 230 lbs.

Campbell is from Roswell, Georgia, and attended Roswell High School. He played football as a defensive end and outside linebacker, as well as, baseball. In his junior year, he played rugby before joining Phoenix his senior year, which finished #7 nationally.

He attended Arkansas State on a rugby scholarship his Freshman and first semester of his Sophomore year but left before the second semester after sustaining a shoulder injury. In 2016 he attended the USA All-American Camp in Chula Vista and played two matches for the Junior All-Americans Development Team against Canada U19s.

He completed his education at Kennesaw State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies in 2020. He played rugby during his junior and senior years.

After graduation, he played with USA Rugby South against the Old Glory Selects and this led to his signing with Pathway 404. He also played with Rugby ATL during the 2021 preseason, and later signed with the Atlanta Rhinos in rugby league. From Fall 2021 into 2022, he played with Austin Gilgronis Outlaws and played in the preseason for the Gilgronis. His performance gained him a contract with Austin Gilgronis and he was on the matchday squad for the first match against the Dallas Jackals.
