NOLA Gold added Alex Lopeti for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 21-year-old loosehead prop (22 in April) is 5’10” and 230 lbs.
Alex is from Hayward, California, and attended Tennyson High School. He played football as a defensive end and defensive tackle. He also played rugby for Pennisula Green Rugby Club.
After graduating high school in 2018, he attended Chabot College, where he continued to play football in 2018 and 2019.
Alex played rugby for Life West and attended the USA U23 High-Performance Pathway 9 week camp in Glendale, Colorado in 2021. He also was on the USA Select XV for the Americas Pacific Challenge in 2021. Alex played in the Rugby Tens Championship in Lisbon, Portugal for the H. Badgers and played for the Austin Gilgronis Outlaws Academy in Fall 2021.
Alex is the younger brother of the USA National Team and Seattle Seawolves center, Tevita Lopeti.
