San Diego Legion added Thomas Reyes to the 2022 Major League Rugby squad ahead of their season opener against the Utah Warriors after Nathan Sylvia was a late scratch. He entered the match in the closing minutes for his first MLR cap.
The tighthead prop is from Kingman, Arizona, and began playing rugby while in Sicily while serving in the U.S. Navy in about 2015. He played for the Syrako Rugby Club in Siracusa, Italy, and most recently played with the San Diego Old Aztecs.
The third time is said to be the charm, and it was for Thomas as he was selected for the All-Navy Rugby Team for the 2021 Rugbytown 7s.
Thomas balances family commitments with his wife and four sons.
