Dallas Jackals Adds Luke Rizzo

The Dallas Jackals signed Luke Rizzo for the 2022 Inaugural MLR Season! The 21-year-old hooker is 6’0″ and 225 lbs.

Luke was born and raised in The Woodlands, Texas, and was exposed to rugby early watching his father coach rugby at Sam Houston State University. He played youth football and also rugby with the Woodlands Youth Rugby Club.

He attended Woodlands High School where he was a long snapper for the football team and was first-team All-District 15-6A as a senior and won 2 state championships in rugby.

He played two years of Division 1 football at Texas Tech University as a long snapper and was a third-team All Big-12 Deep snapper for Phil Steel Magazine in 2020 before realizing football was not his true passion. He returned to The Woodlands Men’s Rugby Club his junior year in college.  

He was selected for the USA U23 High-Performance Pathway program in Colorado where he trained for 9 weeks in Summer 2021. He then played for the USA U23 Academy in Fall 2021 in the XL Series against mainly Academy and other high-performance teams.

He is currently pursuing his Business degree with the goal of becoming a personal trainer.
