The Dallas Jackals signed Argentina Pumas Sevens Marcos Moroni for the 2023 Major League Rugby season. The 27-year-old center/fullback is 6’3″ and 200 lbs.
Marcos played 481 minutes in 7 matches, starting 6, and scored 1 try for the Houston SaberCats in 2022.
Marcos was a 2021 URBA Top 12 champion with CUBA and is the younger brother of Matías Moroni, who represented Los Pumas at the 2015 and 2019 World Cups and is currently with the Leicester Tigers. Unlike his brother, Marcos Moroni is uncapped. The 26-year-old is primarily a fullback but can also play on the wing.
Marcos made his World Sevens Series debut in Dubai in 2017 and has played in 20 events, as well as playing in the 2018 Rugby World Cup Sevens in San Francisco. He missed most of the 2019-2020 Series with a knee injury but has recovered and has returned to rugby since then with CUBA.
