Rugby New York Signs Will Tucker

Rugby New York signed Will Tucker for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 23-year-old lock (24 in March) is 6’8″ and 245 lbs.

Will was born and raised in Christchurch, New Zealand. He attended Heaton Intermediate School and then St Bede’s College, where he played 1st XV in 2014 & 2015, winning the University of Canterbury Championship in the latter. Will also represented New Zealand Schools in 2015 against Australian Schools, as well as was selected to the Crusader Knights.

Will played for the Wahroonga Tigers and Gordon Juniors along with brothers Brad, who played for Waikato, and James, who played for the Super Rugby Chiefs.

Will represented the New Zealand U20s at the 2018 World Rugby Junior World Championship, which was played in France. Between 2018-2019 he played Mitre 10 Cup for Canterbury and from 2020-2021 for Otago. In 2021 the competition was renamed the National Provincial Championship.

In 2020 he was selected for the Highlanders tour to South Africa and Argentina, as well as playing club rugby with Christchurch RFC.
