Rugby ATL Kurt Coleman 2022 Profile

Rugby ATL re-signed Kurt Coleman for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 31-year-old flyhalf (32 in January) is 5’10” and 185 lbs.

Kurt returned from injury toward the end of the 2021 season, and played 236 minutes in 5 matches, starting twice and scoring 23 points from 7 conversions and 3 penalty goals.

Kurt played 385 minutes in five matches as a starter for Rugby ATL in 2020. He scored 36 points through 6 conversions and 8 penalty goals. He also played for 404 Pathway ATL during the Fall as a player coach. Kurt played in the silver and black Rugby ATL 2021 preseason match.

Kurt is from Knysna, Western Cape, South Africa, and attended Grey High School and then the University of Stellenbosch where he played in the 2011 Varsity Cup.

Kurt played youth rugby with the Eastern Province Kings during the 2008 Craven Week. From 2009-2011 he played with Western Province U19s, U21s, and in the 2011 Vodacom Cup.

His Senior rugby career began in 2011 with Western Province where he played through 2017 in the Currie Cup Premier Division. In 2012 he was loaned to the South Western Districts Eagles before returning to Western Province for the Currie Cup competition. He also played with the Super Rugby Stormers team from 2011-2017. during the 2017-2018 season, he played with the Southern Kings in the Guinness PRO 14 league.

Kurt now joins Rugby ATL after an injury in 2018 curtailed his play and his experience, as well as leadership, will be invaluable to the team.
