NOLA Gold signed Chase Schor-Haskin after a trade with Rugby New York for a foreign player slot that will allow New York to select one extra import in their matchday squads. Chase was Rugby New York’s first-round selection (6th) in the 2021 Major League Rugby Collegiate draft. The 22-year-old flanker/No.8 (23 in May) is 6’3″ and 215 lbs.
Chase is from Pembroke Pines, Florida, and attended Pembroke Pines Charter High School. In December 2016, he attended the Boys’ High School All-American Camp, representing the Okapi Wanderers.
He attended Life University from 2017-2021 graduating with a Bachelor’s Degree. He played rugby XVs and 7s , won the 2021 Collegiate Sevens National Championship, and was on the All-Tournament team. He also won the D1A National XVs Championship with Life in 2018 and 2019.
He competed with his father Greg, at the Maccabiah Games in Israel in 2017, beating South Africa 24-21 to win the gold Medal. He also was the runners-up with Atlantics Sevens at the 2017 North American Invitational 7s.
In 2021 he played in the USA Club Sevens Nationals with Old Blue and in Fall 2021 with Life Men’s in the American Rugby Premiership.
