New England Free Jacks Signs Reegan O’Gorman

The New England Free Jacks signed Reegan O’Gorman for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old Canadian international lock (26 in May) is 6’6″ (1.98m) and 265 lbs (118 kg).

Reegan played 146 minutes in 5 starts with Austin Gilgronis in 2021. He also played for Canada against Wales and England in July. In the Fall he played in the British Columbia Coastal Cup with Van East Rugby.

Reegan is from Vancouver, Canada, and attended Sir Winston Churchill Secondary School. He played for the Canada U18s and then the U20s in 2016 at the World Rugby Trophy competition in Portugal. He made his Senior National Team debut against Chile at Langford on 11 February 2017. The two matches that he started in the Americas Rugby Championship in 2017 were against the United States and Uruguay. The last of his 6 tests (4 starts) was against England at Twickenham on July 10, 2021.

Reegan played rugby for Marist Albion Rugby Club in Christchurch, New Zealand from 2015-2018, and missed the club season in 2019 while he played with the Canadian Rugby World Cup Training Squad. He also played with South Canterbury in 2018 and in 2019 in the New Zealand Heartland Championship prior to returning home for a centralized contract with Canada.

He also played club rugby with the Vancouver Rowing Club and for the UBC Thunderbirds during the 2019-2020 season. During the 2020 MLR season, Reegan agreed to terms on a contract with the Toronto Arrows just before COVID-19 canceled the remainder of the MLR season.
