The Dallas Jackals signed Argentine Conrado Roura for the 2022 Major League Rugby season. The 25-year-old No.8 (26 in February) is 6’3″ and 225 lbs.
Conrado was signed by the Jackals for 2020, however, when the team postponed entry into the league, he played for Penarol in the Superliga Americana.
Conrado is from Córdoba, a large city in Southern Argentina. He began playing rugby at 13 years old for Club Palermo Bajo, a first division team of the Córdoba Rugby Union. He attended the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba from 2014-2019.
Conrado represented Argentina as a blindside flanker on Argentina’s U20 team in 2016 and helped the team to third place. His performance resulted in being named MVP of the team. In 2017, he was selected to Argentina’s Sevens National Team, which he played through the 2020 season. He then joined Ceibos Rugby Club, the second professional rugby team in Argentina. Ceibos is in the Súper Liga Americana de Rugby.
Dallas Jackals Comments
According to Jackals 2020 comments, Conrado enjoys open-air activities such as hiking and camping. He also enjoys reading and watching movies. “I have heard that Dallas is distinguished by the culture, art, and museums, so I am excited to explore the city,” said Conrado.
GM Elaine Vassie said in December 2021, “Excited to be welcoming Conrado to Dallas for our inaugural season. An Argentinian international across 7s and XVs, his comfort on the ball along with his versatility across the back row will be a great fit for our Jackals style!”
